KIPP P extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. Their defense stepped up to hand the KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs a 20-0 shutout. The win was all the more spectacular given the Pride's disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 333rd in North Carolina, while the Bulldogs are ranked 15th in District of Columbia).

KIPP P's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tamaues Person led the charge by rushing for 75 yards and one score on only ten carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Gearey Johnson, who rushed for 17 yards and one TD.

KIPP P's defense stepped up as well, laying out Zachary Butler. five times. Zachary Terry was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Having lost for the first time this season, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep fell to 2-1. They gained 64 more yards on the day, but it was KIPP P that made the best use of them.

When it comes to explaining why KIPP DC Legacy College Prep lost, don't look at Butler. Despite the final result, he rushed for 61 yards on only five carries, and also threw for 130 yards on only 11 passes.

Looking ahead, KIPP P will take on Howard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pride 7, the Eagles 13) so any points scored will be well earned. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, they are taking a road trip to square off against McKinley Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
