Basketball Recap: Spring Hill Christian Academy Falls to Faith Outreach Academy in First Game of Season

Spring Hill Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Faith Outreach Academy Eagles.

It was another big night for Jorden Mitchell, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 17 boards for Faith Outreach Academy. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of LeBron Carriera, who went 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and four steals.

Faith Outreach Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Hill Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Hernando Christian on January 13, 2026. As for Faith Outreach Academy, they will host Inverness Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
