Basketball Recap: Intrinsic Takes a Loss

Intrinsic was the 38-34 winner over Chicago Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Intrinsic Mustangs were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 35-34 to the Chicago Academy Cougars. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Israel Paredes and Nery Paredes certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Israel posted eight points, while Nery had eight points. Those eight points gave Nery a new career-high.

Intrinsic's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Chicago Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Intrinsic won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fasman Yeshiva at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fasman Yeshiva will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Intrinsic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chicago Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
