Baseball Recap: Keyport Starts Season with Win Against Perth Amboy Vo-Tech

Keyport took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Perth Amboy Vo-Tech Patriots 6-5. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Keyport's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Knoblauch, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Knoblauch is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Keyport and Perth Amboy Vo-Tech will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Keyport is set to face off against their familiar foe Lakewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Perth Amboy Vo-Tech will square off against rival Piscataway Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
