Volleyball Recap: Perham Yellowjackets vs. Hawley Nuggets
Perham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawley Nuggets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Perham started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-10.
Hawley can attribute much of their success to Hannah Stotts, who had 15 digs and two aces. Stotts is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Perham's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Hawley, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Perham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Park Rapids on the 10th. Hawley has also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Staples-Motley on the 15th.
