Softball Recap: Palmer Comes Up Short

Palmer had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 9-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Kenai Central Kardinals, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 on Friday.

As for Kenai Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The result was nothing new for Kenai Central, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Kenai Central's part, the team relied heavily on Blakeley Jorgensen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Crapps, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Palmer is set to square off against their familiar foe Soldotna at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Kenai Central will face off against rival Kodiak at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
