Baseball Game Preview: Shasta Wolves vs. Enterprise Hornets

For the second straight game, Shasta will face off against Enterprise. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Shasta has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Shasta is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Enterprise just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 5-4.

For Enterprise's part, Porter Fischer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Fischer has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Enterprise: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Nick McKellar was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Wayde Hutchings was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Shasta's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Enterprise, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.
