Baseball Game Preview: Alliance Aviators vs. Minerva Lions

For the second straight game, Alliance will face off against Minerva. The Aviators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Alliance was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Minerva on Tuesday. The Aviators put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 7-1 win.

Brodee Bugara looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kamryn Burton was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Brady White was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Alliance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minerva only posted a batting average of .130.

Alliance is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Minerva, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Minerva's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alliance hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319.
