Volleyball Recap: Kittson Central/Lancaster Bearcats vs. East Grand Forks Green Wave

After flying high against Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] on Tuesday, Kittson Central/Lancaster came back down to earth. The Bearcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Grand Forks Green Wave on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Kittson Central/Lancaster had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 16-25, 25-23.

Kaydence White paced Kittson Central/Lancaster's offense, picking up 34 kills. White got some help from Camryn Whitlock and her 22 assists. White was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

East Grand Forks' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kelsey Spilde, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Kittson Central/Lancaster now has a losing record of 1-2. As for East Grand Forks, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Looking ahead, East Grand Forks will head out to face off against Win-E-Mac at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
