Basketball Recap: Nelson County Comes Up Short

Nelson County lost against Bardstown back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Nelson County Cardinals had to suffer through a 61-32 loss at the hands of the Bardstown Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Tigers are ranked 77th).

Nelson County's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Bardstown, their record is now 9-4.

Nelson County will welcome Meade County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Meade County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Bardstown has already played their next game (against Bethlehem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
