Model lost to Powell County back in May of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Pirates.

Model saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Adams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Adams has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Model is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Powell County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Model will face off against Garrard County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots are facing the Golden Lions at the right time seeing as the Golden Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Powell County, they will take on Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.54 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
