Recap: Oxford Wolverines vs. Watertown Indians

The Oxford Wolverines pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Watertown. That's two games in a row now that Oxford has lost by exactly 13 points.

Watertown found their leader in underclassman Justin Davis, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Brayden Gambee was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Oxford are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Watertown, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford will take on Seymour at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Seymour's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Watertown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Paul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Paul Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Watertown likes a good challenge.
