Volleyball Recap: Aftyn Hurst and Paige Wakumoto Secure Win for Lehi

Lehi proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Alta Hawks, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lehi took Alta into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 20-25, 22-25, 15-12.

Lehi was led to victory by Paige Wakumoto and Aftyn Hurst. Wakumoto had 18 digs and four aces, while Hurst had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Hurst a new career-high.

Lehi's record now sits at 2-0. As for Alta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Lehi will be playing in front of their home fans against Payson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alta, they will be taking part in a tournament against South Anchorage at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
