Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Takes a Loss

John F. Kennedy lost against Cuero on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The John F. Kennedy Rockets were beaten by the Cuero Gobblers 57-24. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.

Despite the loss, John F. Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Genesis Hern?ndez posted 12 points and four steals. Hern?ndez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Aubrey Bowles continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cuero, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Arissa Carbonara, who put up eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

John F. Kennedy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season. As for Cuero, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Gonzales the next time they take the court. Cuero will host Gonzales at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while John F. Kennedy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
