Baseball Game Preview: Como Park Cougars vs. Highland Park Scots

Como Park is 1-9 against Highland Park since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Cougars will host the Scots at 4:30 p.m. Como Park has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Highland Park hit Como Park with a six-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Scots, falling 13-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Como Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Corniea, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Highland Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Como Park, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
