Baseball Recap: Green Run Takes a Loss

Green Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They lost 13-2 to the Cox Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 two weeks ago.

CJ Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Green Run's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Cox, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Green Run will welcome Kempsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Stallions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cox, they will head out to challenge Poquoson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
