Basketball Preview: Sequoyah Chiefs vs. Stephenson Jaguars
The Sequoyah Chiefs and the Stephenson Jaguars will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, everything went Sequoyah's way against White County as Sequoyah made off with a 53-32 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.
It was another big night for Milanni Abdus-Salaam, who shot 5-for-7 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sequoyah's points. Harper Cofer was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Stephenson had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They breezed by the Bulldogs to the tune of 71-30.
