Baseball Recap: Logansport Gets the Win

Logansport's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Wabash Apaches. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Berries also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Micah Rogers looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Logansport got a big performance out of Max Kitchel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Portilla, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Logansport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Wabash, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logansport will take on Rochester at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wabash, they will face off against Whitko at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Apaches' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
