It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Grimsley Whirlies had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-55 victory over the War Eagles. Winning may never get old, but Grimsley sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Richard Goods was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Grimsley's points. Nick Keith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Grimsley is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Davie, their loss dropped their record down to 22-5.

Grimsley will head out on the road to face off against Lake Norman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Grimsley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 23 matchups. Davie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
