Baseball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln extended their losing streak to 11 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-23 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Yellowjackets. Surprisingly, this marked the Lynx's third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Adler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Jefferson, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-21. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

On Jefferson's side, the team relied heavily on Kendall Bell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nate Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Valley on the 28th. As for Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against Harlan on the 27th.
