Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Yellowjackets. Surprisingly, this marked the Lynx's third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Jefferson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-21.

Lincoln and Jefferson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Lynx will face off against Valley at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (183 vs. 12). Meanwhile, Jefferson (ranked 177th) will meet Harlan (ranked 46th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
