Basketball Recap: Williamsburg Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Williamsburg Raiders were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to the Ballard Bombers. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Bombers are ranked tenth).

Williamsburg has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Ballard, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Williamsburg won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ballard, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Hoover at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ballard knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Hoover likes a good challenge.
