Volleyball Recap: West Port Wolf Pack vs. Forest Wildcats
West Port had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Forest Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolf Pack of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
West Port took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-16, 25-21.
Gaveena Smith paced West Port's offense, picking up six kills. Smith got some help from Eneidys Maysonet and her 12 assists. Finally, Smith was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Forest found their leader in sophomore Addison Owens, who had eight digs and two aces.
Looking ahead, West Port will challenge East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forest, they will square off against Chiles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
