Basketball Recap: Chase County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Perkins County last Thursday, Chase County came back down to earth. The Chase County Longhorns came up short against the Gothenburg Swedes on Friday, falling 59-34. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Swedes: they've now lost five in a row.

Chase County's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Gothenburg, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Chase County will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Gothenburg, they will face off against Broken Bow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gothenburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Broken Bow likes a good challenge.
