Soccer Recap: La Vega Extends Winning Streak to Eight

La Vega kept a clean sheet against Mexia on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mexia Black Cats. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Black Cats are ranked 708th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gael Hernandez and Jordan Medina scored both of La Vega's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.
