Basketball Game Preview: Rock Island Rocks vs. Kewanee Boilermakers

The Rock Island Rocks will venture away from home to face off against the Kewanee Boilermakers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Rock Island beat East Moline United 56-46. Given the Rocks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Panthers are ranked 520th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Kewanee hadn't done well against Princeton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Kewanee enjoyed a cozy 57-39 victory over Princeton. The win was nothing new for the Boilermakers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kewanee has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Rock Island, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.
