Basketball Recap: Vicksburg Comes Up Short

Vicksburg won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They lost 65-41 to the Ridgeland Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gators have suffered since February 7, 2024.

Eva Young continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ridgeland, going 10 of 17 on her way to 27 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Young's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Austin, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Vicksburg has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Ridgeland, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Vicksburg will welcome Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ridgeland, they will venture away from home to take on Callaway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
