Jozlyn Tyre leads a balanced attack to beat Snow Hill

The Decatur Seahawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past Snow Hill with a 58-52 win. For Decatur, this counts as revenge for the 34-29 defeat Snow Hill walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Decatur's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jozlyn Tyre led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Tyre scored 15 or more points. Allison Swift was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.

Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Snow Hill, they dropped their record down to 8-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
