Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for West Limestone

West Limestone's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Randolph School Raiders as the West Limestone Wildcats made off with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Katie Lyn Kyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Bethune, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Haley Waggoner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

West Limestone hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

West Limestone pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.7 runs. As for Randolph School, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (West Limestone: 1.1, Ardmore: 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Randolph School, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against East Limestone at 5:00 p.m.
