Football Game Preview: Cypress Woods Wildcats vs. Bridgeland Bears

The Cypress Woods Wildcats will challenge the Bridgeland Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Cypress Woods: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bridgeland has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Cypress Woods played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They blew past Cypress Park, posting a 41-14 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won three contests by more than 26 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Darien Rogers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 243 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 44 yards. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cory McKenzie, who gained 141 total yards.

Meanwhile, Bridgeland came up short against Cypress Ranch on Friday and fell 23-14.

Bridgeland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cypress Woods, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Cypress Woods came up short against Bridgeland when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 28-24.
