Softball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times St. Ignatius College Preparatory and Valley Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats lost 9-2 to the Warriors on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Gianna Galarza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory is taking a road trip to square off against Presentation at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.87 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley Christian, they will be playing at home against Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
