Football Game Preview: Airline Vikings vs. Captain Shreve Gators + How To Watch

The Airline Vikings will square off against the Captain Shreve Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Airline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Evangel Christian Academy, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Airline was ranked 25th). The Vikings fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 51-49 on Friday. The Vikings were up 28-14 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Airline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jimarion Arthur, Braylyn Jackson, and Jaylan Bradley picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Evangel Christian Academy's side was Abreion Cooper, who picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Captain Shreve). They walked away with a 59-48 victory over Benton on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Gators, who have now won three contests in a row.

Captain Shreve's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Airline, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Airline barely slipped by Captain Shreve in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 69-68. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
