Volleyball Game Preview: The Nueva School Mavericks vs. University Prep Academy Golden Eagles

The Nueva School Mavericks will take on the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. University Prep Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on The Nueva School, who comes in off a win.

University Prep Academy will be up against a hot The Nueva School team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Mavericks put the hurt on Pacific Bay Christian with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.

The Nueva School not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Pacific Bay Christian between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-20.

The Nueva School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vivian Ma led the charge by getting ten assists and five kills. That's the most kills Ma has posted over her last six matches. Julia Cai was another key player, getting seven kills.

The Nueva School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, University Prep Academy lost 3-0 to Summit Shasta on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-6, 25-12.

University Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for The Nueva School, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
