Preview: Wamogo Regional Warriors vs. Gilbert Yellowjackets

Wamogo Regional is 10-0 against Gilbert since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wamogo Regional Warriors will be playing at home against the Gilbert Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wamogo Regional has four straight victories, Gilbert has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Wamogo Regional beat Nonnewaug 67-54.

Wamogo Regional got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Delello out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Quinn Coffey was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Gilbert suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 last Friday. Their tough 66-42 defeat to Terryville might stick with them for a while.

Wamogo Regional pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Gilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything came up roses for Wamogo Regional against Gilbert in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 70-20 win. With Wamogo Regional ahead 29-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
