Basketball Game Preview: Bartlett Panthers vs. Memphis Central Warriors

The Bartlett Panthers will take on the Memphis Central Warriors in a tournament on Saturday. One thing working in Bartlett's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.

Bartlett is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Houston just ended the team's 13-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Mustangs 74-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (61), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Memphis Central got the win against Memphis East on Tuesday by a conclusive 82-58. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Memphis Central's win came from a few key players Bartlett will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Damion Cox, who posted 17 points. His big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Hill, who had 16 points.

Bartlett's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 13-1 and their overall record down to 22-8. As for Memphis Central, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.

Bartlett came out on top in a nail-biter against Memphis Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 52-50. Does Bartlett have another victory up their sleeve, or will Memphis Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
