Football Preview: Johnson-Brock Eagles vs. Elmwood-Murdock Knights

The Johnson-Brock Eagles will face off against the Elmwood-Murdock Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnson-Brock will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.

Last Friday, Johnson-Brock strolled past Johnson County Central with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.

Johnson-Brock can attribute much of their success to Hayden Gravatt, who rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns, and Wyatt Fulton, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. The dominant performance gave Fulton a new career-high in rushing yards. Quentin Behrends got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Johnson-Brock was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in three consecutive matches.

Johnson-Brock's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Behrends and Casen Dalinghaus.

Meanwhile, Elmwood-Murdock didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer on Friday, but they still walked away with a 34-28 victory.
