Baseball Game Preview: Clear Lake Lions vs. Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings

The Clear Lake Lions will square off against the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clear Lake is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Clear Lake can't be too worried about heading out to take on Decorah-North Winneshiek: they just beat Iowa Falls-Alden at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Lions never let the Cadets get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Monday.

Meanwhile, Decorah-North Winneshiek hadn't done well against Waverly-Shell Rock recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Go-Hawks, sneaking past 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Decorah-North Winneshiek's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Clear Lake, their record now sits at 13-8.
