Volleyball Recap: Legacy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Legacy had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mead Mavericks. For the Lightning, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Mavericks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 24-26, 25-22.

Aislin Oldach paced Legacy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Oldach got some help from Emma Gray and her 41 assists. Aubrey D'Onofrio and Reagan Bayley kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Mead lost, don't look at Alana Costello. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and two assists. Emmy Tecu was another key player, getting ten digs.

Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Mead, their defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Legacy will take on rival Niwot at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mead is set to square off against their familiar foe Erie at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
