Volleyball Recap: Kyla Scharfman Key Part of Team Effort in Commanders Win

There's no place like home for Friendship Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Commanders haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Friendship Christian was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-21, 25-19.

Friendship Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyla Scharfman, who had 15 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Scharfman has posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory got Friendship Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Donelson Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Friendship Christian will challenge Liberty Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Donelson Christian Academy and Mount Juliet Christian Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
