Switzerland County finds home court redemption against Clarksville

Recap: Switzerland County Pacers vs. Clarksville Generals

There's no place like home for the Switzerland County Pacers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 victory over Clarksville on Friday. Given Switzerland County's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Clarksville is ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Switzerland County to victory were Cooper Todd and Cam Craig. Todd scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds, while Craig dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Craig has scored at least 25% of Switzerland County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Phelps, who scored 6 points.

Clarksville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Seward, who scored 22 points. Seward scored a full 43.1% of Clarksville's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Josh Hall, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.

Clarksville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Switzerland County pulled down 11.

Switzerland County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clarksville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Switzerland County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Trimble County at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Clarksville, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Crawford County at 6:30 p.m. Crawford County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
