Baseball Recap: Haworth Lions vs. Porum Panthers
Haworth extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 16-3 to the Porum Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.
As for Porum, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5. Considering they have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Porum's part, S Robinson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Robinson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on M Tripp, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of I Sallee, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
