Volleyball Recap: Wayne Trace Takes a Loss

Wayne Trace lost against Bluffton back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Raiders fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2.

Wayne Trace wouldn't go down easily and took Bluffton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 23-25, 14-25, 15-11.

Torree Sinn paced Wayne Trace's offense, picking up 16 kills. Sinn got some help from Olivia Zartman and her 17 assists. Careen Winans controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Vanessa Cross had an outrageously good game for Bluffton as she had 25 digs and two aces. Those 25 digs gave Cross a new career-high.

Wayne Trace's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bluffton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Wayne Trace didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Edgerton on the 9th. As for Bluffton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Allen East on the 9th.
