Baseball Recap: Prestonsburg Blackcats vs. Lebanon Pioneers
Prestonsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lebanon Pioneers.
Alex Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Allen, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Prestonsburg's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Lebanon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Coincidentally, Prestonsburg and Lebanon will both be playing Frederick Douglass the next time they take the field. The Pioneers will head out to face the Broncos at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Blackcats will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
