Basketball Game Preview: Arkansas City Bulldogs vs. Andover Trojans

Arkansas City hasn't had much luck against Andover recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Arkansas City Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Andover Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Arkansas City got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They slipped by Salina Central 50-49 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Andover came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 48-40.

Andover's win came from a few key players Arkansas City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Walker McClellan, who posted ten points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Allman, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Andover's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Arkansas City, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Arkansas City took a serious blow against Andover when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 66-37. Can Arkansas City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
