Basketball Recap: York Catholic Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Linville Hill

Linville Hill typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday York Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 victory over the Linville Hill Warriors. The win was all the more spectacular given the Fighting Irish's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th in Pennsylvania, while the Warriors are ranked 49th in Pennsylvania).

York Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points over those games. Linville Hill's loss ended a 26-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-3.

Looking ahead, York Catholic will head out to challenge West York Area at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linville Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
