Preview: Rosman Tigers vs. Mitchell Mountaineers
The Rosman Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Mitchell Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosman will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Rosman strolled past Draughn with points to spare, taking the game 60-42. Given Rosman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Draughn is ranked 324th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lexi Powell (sykes) was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alissa Cheek, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Mitchell suffered a rough 60-36 loss at the hands of Mountain Heritage on Tuesday. Mitchell has not had much luck with Mountain Heritage recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Rosman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Mitchell, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Rosman strolled past Mitchell in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 59-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rosman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
