Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights
The Roosevelt Roughriders pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Friendship Collegiate Academy. Roosevelt has not had much luck with Friendship Collegiate Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Roosevelt's loss came despite strong showings from Lamar'sha Wilson and Simmons Taniesha. Wilson scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, while Taniesha scored 17 points. Taniesha scored a full 30.9% of Roosevelt's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Simmons Evony'e, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Roosevelt will head out on the road to face off against Leonardtown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Leonardtown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Wednesday. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, they will take on Tournament Opponent at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday.
