Football Recap: Willow Glen Takes a Loss

After soaring to 37 points the game before, Willow Glen was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a hard 26-10 fall against the Branham Bruins. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 15-12 to the Bruins when the teams met back in September of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Aiden Akery threw for 89 yards and one touchdown. Steven Young was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards. On the ground, Gavin Ferraro rushed for 32 yards.

Michael Murphy had a dynamite game For Branham., rushing for 91 yards and a pair of TDs, while also picking up 94 receiving yards and one score. Murphy was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 67 yards. Andrew Ho was another key player, throwing for 246 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Willow Glen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Branham, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Willow Glen will venture away from home to take on Piedmont Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Branham, they will host Menlo School at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
