Football Game Preview: Lackey Chargers vs. Leonardtown Raiders + Official Tickets

The Lackey Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Leonardtown Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lackey will be strutting in after a win while Leonardtown will be coming in after a loss.

Lackey's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat La Plata 40-0. Considering the Chargers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Leonardtown played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 28-7 to Patuxent. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Panthers are ranked 18th).

Lackey's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Leonardtown, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Lackey came up short against Leonardtown in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 21-10. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
