Plainview hasn't had much luck against Wylie recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Plainview will face off against Wylie at 7:00 p.m. Plainview has given up an average of 45 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Plainview was beaten by Memorial 49-22. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Mavericks are ranked 196th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Seth Mayberry, who threw for 379 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. A healthy portion of Mayberry's aerial production (155 yards to be exact) went to Jordan Porter, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, Wylie came up short against Lubbock-Cooper on Friday and fell 42-35.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 23 in total. Noah Rehberg delivered a perfect 3-3 game. One of the most memorable scores? An impressive kickoff return for a touchdown from Blaze Ruffin.
Wylie didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ruffin and Bo Kates. Kates is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Landry Pate was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
Wylie now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Plainview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Plainview has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 287.6 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Wylie, though, as they've been averaging only 159.6 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Plainview couldn't quite get it done against Wylie in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 28-17. Can Plainview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
